Oh, saw that on the forums too. But... they're still probably on the fence about it; seeing as how they actually made a poll for either CBTIV or OBT. So far, there's been more votes for an OBT, but there's been more people writing reasons for a CBTIV on the thread. This was since I checked it yesterday, and now it's up to... 11 pages. On one hand, if they go with a CBTIV they'll drive away some players, but have a less-bugged out game on the release. On the other hand, OBT means more people can test it, but you also may drive out quite a bit people if it's really badly bugged in some way.

or they could, you know, not rush into the next phase, take the time to work on the game, and put out a good obt. At this point another closed beta is just time that could be better spent doing something else. (with the wipe thats bound to happen eventually)

I think an OBT would be good. There will always be bugs, but if they fix everything on this cooldown it will be good.

Well. How are they going to work on the game? Finding bugs and fix them? That's what CBT's are for. So the players find the bugs and they will fix it. They don't have enough people to find AND fix them. It just takes longer. So I think no matter what the next phase is, just come out already!

no, they need to take the time to fix all the stuff they know about now. Yes cbt is for finding bugs but if they don't take all the time necessary to fix them, we'll get round after round of cbt.

But... aren't the patches for fixing the bugs??? Or am I an idiot?

its a lot easier just to fix it while it is down. While patches can work they are better used for small bugs and updates once they've gone beyond the point of wiping.

That's true, but they also can't be expected to find everything by themselves. They probably missed a couple of things they weren't able to find, that other users could. The longer this game is out of commission, people will start to forget about it and move on to something else. So there's always the good and the bad.
