Yeh, it's back, and badder than ever. One of the sickest guild names ever, we accept people who are willing to be chill back while still grinding and increase their status in WK. No level requirements, just be cool and be chill to talk to.

I know it's a little early, but I felt bad invading Val's element poll thread.

Let's discuss event teams in this thread.

Some previous thoughts on the topic

Spoiler:

I think it's a nice little brainchild that could grow into a brainman/woman/god.
If we do this, do you think we should have team captains, ability to trade for teamates, etc...?

Just a little discussion to be had Razz

Wow, that's a lot of quoting. Again, like I said this really depends on what they decide to implant for CBT2. If there can be more than one person PVPING then yeah. Let's just make sure we don't go overboard, otherwise we can have an internal war in the guild.

killing ourselves from the inside? o.o

yeah I like the idea too, our events would be the best any guilds come up with then. Not to mention this is a pretty original idea. I haven't seen any guild with this idea.

FIRE OWNS ALL
Please. What kind of mongrels would we be if we let ourselves fall victim to infighting.
It's a friendly affair anyways. We could probably have everyone switch to different teams each week to dispell this. Just give whichever team wins a prize of some sort.

I'd prefer the roof of my mouth to not be burnt. Anyways, back on topic! *whip*
I'd say have 4 teams, just for the purpose of evening it out, and spreading us a little thinner. Making it easier to get organized in the groups.

Sure I'll have one.... Ouch! That burned.

*Shrugs* I don't know, sometimes it happens. Mongrels probably wouldn't be the first nor the last to do something like that.

But I see your point, it would be a bit pointless to have a war since there shouldn't really be anything to argue about in the first place. Unless it's stacked or something I don't know. But depends how anal people are about it in the first place.

we don't want this to start now do we?

Fire, Ice, Electricity, Music?

Though there isn't any real reason to go with our element names. They sound cool, though.
If we happen to choose sides within guilds, each element could garner its own section in the forums. How that would work out, I'm not entirely sure. Besides, we can't have Val's beautiful banners go to waste.

All of our guildies sound pretty cool to me, though. Hopefully it won't cause drama.
Just in case, we need to have Walter implement a new screening process to weed out the anal ones.
Anal probing?

Edit: There should be a small prize, though.
A token of Fire team's hard-fought efforts.
It doesn't even have to be monetary. I'll think of something when I can.

Blech, think I vomited a little. As for the screening process, I would think a person's nature could be different when pushed into a corner, so it's hard to tell.

Already sure Fire is going to win? Please, ice is going to make you freeze. Razz

but when ice melts it turns into water that puts out fire, its a double bladed sword >.>
electricity would beat both of them. fire can't hurt it, and it gets amped by ice/water.

Hmm but does fire really lose to electricity?

But still PVPING just for the heck of it should be fun, even without the teams.

Electricity, gets owned by fire.

One day, as electricity walked the skies looking for victims to shock in his almighty presence, he spotted a curious animal walking on two limbs. An unusual sight, and electricity set his sights on the thing in question. However, that thing held up a stick of wood just as electricity launched his sparky self towards it. Hurt, and broken-nosed electricity returned to his home in the clouds. He watched as Fire grew in the place he had struck. Mocking him... Again and again, he struck, but the Fire just laughed and grew larger. -Wikipedia.com

Proof fire owns electricity.

Teams are for organization.
You could pvp any old stranger in the game, but you add another dimension when it's.

Okay.

One day, a young man named Thomas Edison was writing a paper with his lantern sitting beside him. The paper was titled "Darkness." SUDDENLY the lantern fell conspicuously and crashed onto the paper. The paper quickly caught fire, but young Edison was too entranced by his sudden insight, that he could not stop writing. Poor young Edison died that day.-Wikipedia.com

Fire killed electricity's father. own.

still, no damage to electricity.
just to the person who FOUND electricity.
he did not create/gave birth to electricity:P
just admit, electricity cannot damage fire, and fire cannot damage electricity.
as both are not solid. and are just energy forms, unlike ice/water.
electricity would just go through fire, and fire would go through electricity.
neither of them damaging.

though honestly I like fire much more Very Happy
just I don't get biased even when I like something more than another,
I get to know its strengths and weaknesses, and embrace them,
and I admit defeat when I know I'm beat.

er. we're not talking pokemon here D:
we're talking elements PERIOD.
like in nature.
thus there would be no ghost, or dragon.

and electricity would kill water and shadow.
fire would kill shadow too.
since both of those energy forms produce light.
and when was the last time you've seen light not overpower a shadow in the real world?
anytime i take a flashlight and shine it on my shadow, its been overpowered.

and anyways, this is supposed to be about guild team things for events and what not.
so it wouldn't just be you vs all. it'd be fire vs ice vs the other teams.

PostSubject: Re: Guild event teams   Sun Aug 09, 2009 8:24 am

I'm trying to get all of this a bit on topic again.

A serious text follows.

While I think it is basically a nice idea to make teams and pvp with other guild members from time to time, we should also think about certain other aspects of that concept.

Of course all of this could help forming bonds between our members, but eventually these bonds won't form between everyone which would possibly lead to forming of smaller groups in the guild. If we (especially the leaders) don't pay enough attention, this could become out of hand and members would retreat into their own smaller groups. I would even go so far to speculate that one certain group some day thinks that the other members are all "not worth their time" and so they decide to leave and make their own guild.
Introducing this cycling concept (members change teams constantly) is a good idea. Again, there will surely be some people who will come to like to play with other certain members a lot more because they actually pvp better. And who doesn't want to win and own?
Naturally, winning isn't everything in this game/in pvp but I doubt that almost all of our future members will accept this mature view of things.
This system would need much control and many mature players to get not out of hand. And if we want to be a big guild, this goal will become even harder to achieve. Mainly because the chance of bad fish in the big sea will rise.

Don't get me wrong - we are a geat guild, even when we actually didn't start playing yet. About a third of our members are active in the forum - that's something. Actually all of us are friendly, help others out and no one feels the urge to flame - that's great and much better than in many other guilds! (Been there, done that - in other games.)
As we are now, this idea would most certainly succeed, but keep in mind: when we grow and become bigger, the possibility of conflicts will also grow and with this forming of teams we will multiply the conflict potential.

I would prefer this idea: forming two or three teams at maximum and we would send those teams into team battles with other guilds.
Training inside of our guild can still happen between members if they like. Nothing to forbid here.

I would just highly recommend not splitting this guild into groups. Even if it's only for pvp.
First, we should see how we develop, what members join and what points of view exist on this idea.
Eventually we could give that concept a try.

But I hope I could also make you all see the other side of such ideas.
I only experienced this once as a guild leader which lead to reforming the whole guild.
I would never again do such things without thinking the whole idea through.

Just a piece of advice.

- Val
